Winter meet Spring - photo diary

Hello again. Guilty as charged, I forgot my blog. Again.

So let's catch up. This past month has been a crazy one. The sun has been trying to shine, April showers are forever lurking in the distance and the wild western winds are blowing away our winter cobwebs. But through all the uncertain season changes, life must go on, and here's what I've been up to.

Ryan's mum has recently visited our island home. The visit was during a sunny week so we hit the beaches. All the beaches. All the days.

One of my favourite walking buddies, Ailsa (Ryan's cousin), was home from uni so we headed to the farm.

My new favourite beach, I've walked here a lot over the past month and it never disappoints. This visit was in good company, good weather and made for good memories.

You're never too old. Climb 'em and climb 'em high (or to the first branch if your name is Rhianna). We stumbled across this mighty tree on a dog walk and spent a while just hanging around.

Our first swim of 2018. The water may be cold but the first hints of sunshine got us too excited.

I wasn't planning on photographing this beautiful lady. I headed out in search of deer, but didn't find any, then she crossed my path and stood her ground.

It would seem I'm always at the beach lately. But, who wouldn't be when the sun is shining?! The dogs may or may not like being thrown in...

Ryan's mum and Trigger are best friends, she puppy-sat for us when he was a babe and even though we don't see her often, I know Trigger loves to have her around!

Being outside a lot over the last month has had its perks. I found my Prince.

The search for Standing Arches

It's been a little while since I've shared some of my photos with you, so here's a break from the Sustainable Living posts.

On Tuesday the sun decided to shine, we finally saw a break in the never ending rain that's been pouring down on Islay 🙌. And what better way to celebrate than search for Standing Arches by coast?!

We picked up the map, picked out the marked Arches, and picked our route. We headed up to Sanaigmore, a simply stunning area of this little Island, we started walking North-East.

The waves were crashing, the cliffs were high and the sunshine was glorious.

Approximately 40mins walk from Sanaigmore Bay we come across a second sandy beach and instantly fell in love. It's definitely a new favourite where we've decided to camp come summer, but this wasn't enough so on we walked.

On to Ton Mhor where we scaled the cliff tops mesmerised by the roaring sea below and the soaring sea birds curious of who we were.

But as the day began to fade away we reluctantly turned back. On our return we headed over the land instead of sticking to the coast. But land meant bog, bog deep enough for the dogs to swim in! But what's a walk without a little adventure...  Here's to the next one.

P.S. for anyone who's wondering. No, we didn't find the elusive Standing Arches....
