Earlier this year I wrote my first 'Making decisions' blog, I decided to make 2016 my year and committed to a volunteering trip in Cambodia. We're now 7 months into the year and another life-changing decision has been made, my job has been quit, my house contract seised and boxes packed as I follow another dream, I'm finally going to live in Scotland.
Last week Ryan and I were wild camping on the Isle of Islay, however this little camping trip was a little different, it wasn't all about the campfires and long country walks and instead we found ourselves investigating our new job and home. (Although we did find the time for a few fires!)
The Isle of Islay is a southern Hebridean island off the West coast of Scotland, and to me, it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. With a population of around 3,000 and only a co-op for food shopping it's safe to say our lifestyle will be changing - and I can't wait!
We're moving into a tiny 2 bedroom cottage, and it's in need of a little loving, which means our lives are going to be DIY heaven (or hell) for a little while but who can complain when you've got stunning views?!
So, why have we decided to move? This is a question I can't really answer. A spur of the moment, a gut feeling and living for today. Saying "no" would of led to regret and a sense of 'what if', so with hearts wide open we made the leap and, thankfully, so far, things are working out!
I'm now counting down the days (it's 6 as I'm writing!!) until I can call Islay home and revel in surrounding nature and beauty, and to celebrate here's a few of my favourite shots from last week.
